Lenten Vespers with Hymnus Angelicus, Sunday, March 4, 2018 at 4:00 pm
Let your spirit soar with the fourteen soaring voices and beautiful instruments of Hymnus Angelicus as they lead us in Lenten Vespers including two cantatas, the reading of Scripture, and congregational song. Lenten Vespers will call our hearts to quiet, peaceful, and powerful Lenten reflection.

ADULT EDUCATION: A Crazy, Holy Grace, Bertlesen Library, Sundays at 9:30 am
This four session DVD-based study is based on author Frederick Buechner’s essays on pain, the loss of a loved one, letting go, peace, and the healing power of memories. Buechner is a highly influential writer who has won awards for his poetry, short stories, novels, and theological writing. You are invited!

Beginning on Wednesday, February 21st, noon, you are invited to discuss David Brook’s book, The Road to Character. Brooks writes a column for the New York Times and teaches at Yale. This is a best selling down to earth book on achieving true character. Owning a book is not necessary, though public libraries and mail orders are available. We will meet in the Fellowship Hall at noon. Bring a sandwich. Charles Duddingston will lead the program, which will run for several Wednesdays.

Potato Bar, Sunday, March 11th after worship
The ever-popular Potato Bar will will be a fundraiser for the summer mission trip to Spirit Lake in North Dakota. Please plan to stay and enjoy a delicious baked potato with toppings.

Save the date: Vacation Bible School, June 25th-June 29th
This year’s theme is Hero Central. An information meeting will be held on March 18th immediately following worship. Contact the Director of Family Ministry and mission, Chris Archer for more details on how to sign up your children to attend and for adults to volunteer.

Mission Trip, June 10th-15th
This coming summer St. Paul’s UMC will be returning to the Spirit Lake Ministry Center in North Dakota. This will be an intergenerational mission trip with youth and adults invited. Projects will include those for skilled and unskilled labor. If you have interest in going please contact Chris Archer, the Director of Family Ministry and Missions.

2018 is the Year of Music at Saint Paul’s UMC, with special musical guests in worship services monthly, as well as a free concert series. Read more at the Year of Music page.
